Discover the Significance

Why Tabor 2025?

Mount TABOR is the traditional site of the Transfiguration of Jesus. This identification was made as early as the 3rd century by Origen and was supported by other early Christian figures like St. Cyril of Jerusalem and St. Jerome.

By the 6th century, the mountain had become a major pilgrimage site for all people.

'Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus on Mount TABOR' (Lk 9 : 29-36) is an important event and tremendous experience for the Apostles, during when God the Father said, ‘This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to Him.’

Let us come together ecumenically and have the same experience on this Thomas mount where St. Thomas was martyred.

‘TABOR 2025’ is being organised to commemorate the 1700th Anniversary of the first Ecumenical Council held in Nicaea in 325 AD.
